Discussion:

"For the Stockholm-born artist Tyra Kleen, who studied painting in Dresden from 1890 to 1892, encountering Max Klinger and his art was of crucial importance. Under his influence, she turned to graphics and especially perfected lithography. Her early works in particular can be seen in the context of international symbolism and Art Nouveau. In 1907 she presented her work at an exhibition by the Viennese bookseller and publisher Hugo Heller, where it was characterized as "symbolizing."  B
