The painter Otto Illies (Yokohama 1881-1959 Wernigerode) was the cousin of artist Arthur Illies.  From 1903 to 1908, Otto Illies was at student of Ludwig von Hofmann at the Weimar Art School [Weimarer Kunstschule].  In 1908, Illies exhibited with the Berlin Secession; and from 1908 to 1911, he shared a studio with Hans Delbrück in Berlin.  This photograph dates from that period.
