signed on the base in the bronze cast: "Schädler"


 

"The block-like pedestal over a quadruple stepped base. On it, a moving faun with stylized fur in a wavy shape. On his bent back, a young faun holding on to his horns."  H


"After completing his training in Munich, August Schädler worked as a Hohenzoller court sculptor in Sigmaringen. He also made works for the Grand Ducal Majolica Factory [Großherzogliche Majolika Manufaktur] in Karlsruhe, and moved to Munich in 1914."  H
