Discussion:

Helga Maria Ultzmann was the daughter of the urologist Richard Ultzmann (1874-1948) and granddaughter of the urologist Robert Ultzmann (1842-1889).  From 1936-38, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Emil Pirchan and received recognition as an academic stage designer. She also studied at the school for liberal arts that the portrait painter Victor Hammer (1882-1967) founded in 1936 at Grundlsee in Archkogel.
