"Max Brüning studied at the Leipzig Art Academy with Alois Kolb and the etcher Peter Palm, and in Munich with Franz von Stuck. Study trips to Greece, the Orient, Paris, and Tyrol. After World War I, he became the personal drawing teacher of Crown Prince Wilhelm. A large part of his etching work was destroyed during World War II." SKD
